“Welcome to your local”

Hello and a very warm welcome to all customers old and new.

How does the saying go? “the best things come in small packages”. Well, we are a small, friendly and truly independent real ale pub with real beers, real fires, real food and real atmosphere!

Formerly called the ‘Millers Arms’ and subsequently established as a real ale house in 1985 by Clarks of Wakefield when it also became known as ‘Boons End’, the ‘Brewers Pride’ was ‘born’ in 1991 and has built up one of the finest of reputations for both the choice and consistent quality of cask ales sold - currently, there are two house beers and a choice of seven rotating guest beers available on the bar all the time!

Built in 1872, this fantastic old pub is ‘stuffed’ full of character and simply oozes warmth and charm – a great place to unwind with and meet new friends. Currently, work is in progress to convert the old ‘Ossett Brewery’ into ‘Millers’ a fine dining restaurant, which is expected to be complete in early 2010 and will comfortably seat up to 50 diners.

In addition to our varied range of quality real ales, we also stock an excellent selection of quality wines and offer a Traditional Lunchtime Menu as well as a tempting Evening Menu with Specials Board and an alternating theme of Steak, Curry and Pie on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. All meals are cooked by our resident chef from fresh, locally sourced produce wherever possible.

Monday evening is quiz night, to get the old grey cells going, with a free supper as a reward! Live music sessions take place on the 1st Sunday of the month together with a programme of live entertainment from local bands including our Annual Beer Festival held each year over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

So, whether you fancy a quiet lunchtime pint, a mouth-watering evening meal with friends, a brain-teasing quiz night or a buzzing, busy band night come along and see us, you will always be made to feel at home and before long everyone will know your name.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Smokers

Immediately, to the rear of the pub is a large, traditionally constructed covered area for those customers who choose to smoke and those who choose to socialise with them.

Children

The Brewers Pride is essentially an adult's environment, although well-behaved children with responsible parents are welcome until 8pm; unfortunately, we do not have changing facilities or high chairs.

Dogs

Dogs on leads with responsible humans attached are also welcome except during food serving times in the evening.
